Jim Brady, Roastmaster Jim started roasting in 2000 after taking over Morning Dew Coffee and being faced with the daunting task of locating quality product. Jim studied with several great roasters including Howard Horgan or Green Mountain Coffee fame, Dr. Joseph John of Josuma and Robbie Roberts of Cup-A-Joe. “Roasting is a passion, an obsession if you will, I love the idea that it is an ever changing process. The beans of today may be very different from the beans from the same plantation next year due to environmental and processing conditions. Its part science, part art...a true calling” Jim is retired session guitarist who survived the 80’s rock scene in NJ. He is a practicing Mahayana Buddhist and an avid sailor.
Charmaine Daum-Brady Charmaine, Jim’s wife, is the machine that keeps the business moving. Handling everything for shipping manifests and barista training to quality control and blending. Charmaine, a longtime Dog Breeder, Handler and Groomer ran a successful pet grooming and boarding business in Winston-Salem, NC for nearly 20 years before taking Morning Dew on as a more full time project. She comes from a family who bred Champion Collies and Vizsla. She is the mother of 2 wonderful children and grandmother to 2 of the most exceptional grandchildren alive!! |
